Week 5

When We’re Angry

Losing their temper with their children was the second most reported challenge by moms in our survey. This week, as we study Herodias, a survivor of trauma, whose anger and grudge result in more trauma, moms will have the chance to:

  • share our struggles with anger - with ourselves, the group, and God

  • identify any disordered desires that lead to anger

  • release our needs to Jesus through Welcoming Prayer

  • become an agent of shalom by using our anger righteously for the Kingdom of God

Prep

  1. Read through the study.

  2. Print Bible passage. (optional)

  3. Cue up the video on whatever screen you will be using. (There is a QR code in your book on page 104. Scan the code to access the video, or use this link.)

  4. Pray for the moms in your group to find in Jesus, a safe friend with whom to share their anger, the roots of their anger, and the consequences of their anger. Pray that as they welcome Jesus into the midst of their struggles, he would transform their anger and use it for the Kingdom of God.
